I was so lucky to have found Pam at the start of high school, as I surely remember feeling deeply frightened and lost......When I tell my stories about this part of my life, I always say how lucky I was to have had someone I could share with about what my world consisted of.....I will always be grateful for her genuine love and consideration of me, exemplified by her enduring endless track meets and bringing the most wonderful picnic tunafish sandwiches et all which we imbibed afterwards.....This was doubly important as my parents did not put a high value on sports.......I would be remiss also if I didn't acknowledge that we had the beginning romantic experiences which were so powerful and important, mostly to feel that somehow I was okay enough that someone found me interesting.....I suppose I was not ready to take in or accept Pam's love back then, but what she gave remains core to my heart.......Some other kinds of firsts I remember, ie. having our special pizza place we would go to, being able to pick her up in the '59 Chevy my parents got for Howard and I, having creme de menthe sundae at Peacock's Ice Cream place which from Winnetka seemed so far away.....Just good stuff.....After my divorce, I did have the chance to see Pam once or twice and find out a little of what had happened in her life....I am glad she found someone she seemed to love and to have had the chance to have kids and all that means........Chuck Lederman
